Hark the Sound is a series exploring music playlists curated by faculty, staff, students, and alumni of the UNC Eshelman School of Pharmacy.

For this edition of Hark the Sound, we present the music of the Golden Mortar Awards. As students RSVP’ed for the 2024 Golden Mortar Awards, we asked them to give us their top song recommendation to be incorporated into the awards show. We mixed those song selections with the chart-toppers from 1974, representing our newest 50-Plus Club alumni, and voila! We have an eclectic mix of music for you to head into your summer with.

The Golden Mortar Awards (GMAs) is the UNC Eshelman School of Pharmacy’s annual awards show. Sponsored by the Pharmacy Alumni Association, the GMAs recognize student excellence, celebrate the graduating class, honor the class of alumni joining the 50-Plus Club, and highlight outstanding faculty, preceptor, and alumni achievements. It is a Hollywood-style awards show with glitz, glam, entertainment, and special moments for invited attendees.
