This year’s Pharmacy Alumni Weekend on Friday, October 4th and Saturday, October 5th was a gathering of the entire Carolina Pharmacy community – from students and alumni to staff and faculty. Click through this photo journey to see some of the highlights and relive some of the memories from an excellent Carolina weekend!

The 31st Annual Pharmacy Alumni Weekend kicked off with a visit from a special guest lecturer, Dr. Damon Tweedy. Dr. Tweedy, a New York Times Bestselling Author, discussed his latest book, Facing the Unseen and its thesis on the need to center mental health care within mainstream medicine. The lecture hall was packed for this signature lecture and attendees lined up afterward for a special book signing.

Later that evening, the pharmily gathered at Topgolf in Durham. It was an excellent turnout with a great mix of alumni, current students, staff, and faculty. Guests enjoyed food, games, and the “collective effervescence” that can only be found with in-person gatherings.

Saturday morning was the Prescription for Victory Tailgate. Nearly 200 people came out to celebrate the Tar Heels ahead of the big game. The family-friendly event featured games, music, face painting, a bounce house, UNC Eshelman School of Pharmacy and student organization swag, and a photo booth! Guests enjoyed food, beer, mimosas, catching up with classmates, and meeting new friends. The Class of 2004 also hosted a special reunion celebration alongside the tailgate inside Beard Hall. A great way to start the game day!

Finally, at the UNC Homecoming game vs. Pitt, Dean Kashuba took the field at halftime to celebrate Rameses’ 100th! The School is sponsoring a special Ram Pen at the Bell Tower for each UNC home football game this year as part of the celebration.

Thank you to all of those who joined us for the 31st Annual Pharmacy Alumni Weekend. We hope to see you all next year!
