Photo Journey: The 2024 Pharmacy Foundation Signature Celebration
Looking ahead to The Next Frontier of Pharmacy with scholars and donors
Story by Ryan McDaniel | Published February 20, 2024
It was a beautiful night at the Museum of Life & Science as the UNC Eshelman School of Pharmacy Foundation celebrated student scholars and the generosity of donors who support these students, as well as the many great things going on at the School.
The evening’s theme was The Next Frontier of Pharmacy, and featured remarks from current students focusing on aerospace pharmacy: fourth-year student Tom Diaz and third-year student Emma Ives. Dr. Al Edwards, Director of the Structural Genomics Consortium (SGC) spoke of the critical importance of open science and the harmonious match of the SGC with the nation’s top public school of pharmacy.
Attendees enjoyed scavenger hunt bingo among the museum’s space-themed exhibits, liquid nitrogen cocktails, prizes including basketball tickets, mini-reunions (Kappa Psi and Class of ’84!), and the collective effervescence of being together with fellow alumni and students. Even Pharmeses dressed up for the occasion in his best (space) suit and Pharmeses Junior took a spin in the space capsule!
